Smiling Faces Afterschoolers visited First Fruit Farm in Louisburg, NC  on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.

Jason Brown, known by the students as Farmer Brown, is a former NFL center that now owns and operates a farm in Franklin County.  

He spoke to our students about the life cycle of bees and plants, as well as farming.

Our students picked squash.

This was a new experience for most.

Then they picked and ate blackberries.

They also picked blueberries.  Few of them made it home.

We toured the farm on a tractor pulled trolley. 

It was a very educational day, as well as tons of fun.
